CustomFrom Privacy Policy

CustomFrom is a browser extension that lets you send email from your own addresses inside Gmail on the web, using an email provider account that you control. This section explains what data the extension handles and where it goes.
- We don't run servers that receive, store or read your email.
- Your provider API keys and settings are stored only in your browser.
- We don't use analytics, tracking or advertising, and we never sell data.
Data the extension handles
Messages you choose to send with a custom address. When you press Send with one of your CustomFrom addresses selected, the extension reads that draft (recipients, subject, body, attachments, inline images and the headers needed to keep replies threaded) from the Gmail page. It then sends the draft directly from your browser to the email provider you configured (for example Resend, Amazon SES, Postmark or Mailgun). Those messages are handled by that provider under its own privacy policy. CustomFrom does not send your message content anywhere else.

Settings and API keys. The addresses you add, their display names, provider API keys and your options are stored in the extension's local storage in your browser. They are not synced to us.
Your Gmail address. The extension reads the address of the signed-in Gmail account so it can BCC a copy of each message back to you, if you enabled that option. This stays in your browser.
Trial start date and license. Your trial start date and, if you bought one, your license key and its activation ID are stored in the extension's sync storage. That lets reinstalling on the same Chrome profile reuse your activation. Chrome syncs this storage through your Google account. It is not sent to us.
License verification
If you buy a license, the extension sends your license key, a browser label (for example “Chrome 140”) and the activation ID that Creem issues to our license service at license.steadytabs.com, which forwards them to Creem, our payment provider, to activate and periodically re-validate the license. No message content, Gmail data or API keys are included in these requests.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record. Creem collects your name, email and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details from Creem so we can provide support and refunds.
Permissions
- mail.google.com: to add the From bar to Gmail's compose window and read the draft you choose to send.
- Email provider API domains: to send your message through the provider you configured.
- storage, alarms, scripting: to save your settings, re-check your license occasionally, and integrate with the Gmail page.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs and Gmail pages adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose, sending your email from your chosen address. It is not transferred to anyone except the email provider you choose, and it is not used for advertising or read by humans.
Data retention and deletion
Removing an address in the extension settings deletes its stored API key. Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored data. To remove your license or purchase records, email support@steadytabs.com.
